By remembering 亚洲色吧 in your will, you can ensure that the wealth you have accumulated during your lifetime continues to benefit others.

Since the University was established in 1884, 亚洲色吧 has benefitted from the philanthropy of generous individuals and organisations. The foundation of the University College of North Wales, which included donations from the local quarrymen who made voluntary contributions from their weekly wages, was a direct result of a campaign for higher education provision in Wales and was enabled by donors at all levels. These donors saw the importance and need of an educational institution and 亚洲色吧鈥檚 success today is a testament to the foresight and ambition of our founding supporters.

The University, home to over 10,000 students and nearly 2,000 members of staff, is renowned in the UK and internationally for both outstanding teaching and research across a spectrum of academic disciplines.

The University鈥檚 financial needs vary from year to year, as it receives funding from many different sources for many areas of work. Unrestricted, general purpose legacies give 亚洲色吧 the flexibility to invest in the programmes and facilities that are most needed when gifts are received. Your general purpose legacy will help to ensure 亚洲色吧鈥檚 future excellence and competitiveness in an ever-changing world. You may have an affinity to a specific area 鈥 such as an academic school, a research programme or the Library 鈥 or you may wish to preserve the memory of your own name or that of a family member by funding a specific award.

Over time, academic schools/colleges and research areas will change; so, it is best to avoid stipulating very specific purposes for your gift that may prevent it from being used. To avoid this situation, you might want to consider including a provision in your will that allows the University to use your legacy in a similar area, or where there is an urgent need for financial support. The Development and Alumni Relations Office team would be pleased to discuss how 亚洲色吧 can honour your wishes.

By leaving a legacy to 亚洲色吧, you can reduce the taxable value of assets in your estate and therefore cut the amount of inheritance tax due. 亚洲色吧 has full charitable status and all gifts and bequests to the University are completely exempt from UK inheritance tax.

  • Mrs Juene Jones听(1950, Latin & French), left 拢2,000 in memory of Juene and David Jones to help student hardship.听
  • Miss N茅st Morris Jones听(1926 Classics), left over 拢260,000 to support Welsh language programmes and Welsh medium education, in memory of her father, Professor Sir John Morris Jones, the first Professor of Welsh at 亚洲色吧.听
  • Mr Alan Marsh听(1952, Zoology & Agriculture), left 拢1,000 to support 亚洲色吧鈥檚 Athletic Union.
  • Mr Barry Paine听(1961, Oceanography), left over 拢52,000 to the School of Ocean Sciences to support students on the summer placements programme.
  • Mrs Rene Williams (1939, Latin), left 拢300,000 to 鈥淭he Edwin Williams Memorial Fund鈥 in memory of her husband Mr Edwin Williams to provide scholarships to the Drama/Welsh Drama students.听
  • Prof. Tim Miles, former member of staff at 亚洲色吧, left over 拢54,000 to support research into co-occurring developmental disorders, including dyslexia. This funded a 2-year PhD in Psychology.
  • Mrs Gwladys (Gail) Rees, former staff member, 亚洲色吧 Normal College, left 拢10,000 in memory of her husband, Mr Edward Rees, former Principal of the Normal College and Vice-President of the University.听
  • Hannah Mary Michael, friend of 亚洲色吧, left 拢140,000 to cancer studies at 亚洲色吧鈥檚 North West Cancer Research Fund Institute.
  • Sir Kyffin Williams RA, friend of the University, left a substantial gift including important works of art, books and furniture.
  • Mrs Rosamund P Bourke, friend of 亚洲色吧, left 拢10,000 for continuing research and outreach activities of the Religious studies network/centre听听

  • Ms Gwladys Richardson, friend of 亚洲色吧, left 拢38,000 to 鈥淭he Mr & Mrs David Edward Memorial Award鈥 in memory of her parents to help any students who may wish to carry out post-graduate research.
