I was certain that I wanted to work with children as I had already enjoyed spending time working with children and young people during my job at a riding yard. I choose to study Childhood and Youth Studies because it would give me a solid knowledge base and help me be able to decide which area of working with children I would enjoy most. 

The course was great! I enjoyed learning about children's rights, multilingualism, child psychology, and learning about children's and young people's additional learning needs. There were also plenty of opportunities for us to build skills that you could apply to looking for jobs in the future during the course, such as CV writing. The support on the course was great and the teaching - every lecturer was ready to answer any question and give us advice. The best thing about the course for me was going to Dublin - I will remember that trip forever!

I have just finished my first year on the MA Social Work course in ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É. I believe that everything I learned on the Childhood and Youth course prepared me and helped me to understand more about children and young people when on my Social Work placement, and for the MA assignments.
