����ɫ�� is pleased to announce that it has received an outstanding outcome with six commendations following its recent Institutional Quality Enhancement Review (QER).

QERs occur approximately every five years in Welsh Universities and is a method by which the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) reviews Welsh Higher Education providers as part of the Quality Assessment Framework for Wales. The review is conducted on behalf of Medr. ��

After consideration of the University’s self-analysis submission and a visit in December, the Quality Enhancement Review has confirmed that ����ɫ�� provides high-quality education, supports its students effectively, and has robust systems in place to maintain and enhance standards.

This positive judgement reflects the University's robust arrangements for securing academic standards, managing academic quality, and enhancing the student experience. It confirms the University’s commitment to delivering high-quality education while meeting both European and Welsh national benchmarks for academic standards, student support, and continuous improvement.

The Quality Enhancement Review highlights ����ɫ��’s success in this rigorous evaluation, reaffirming its position as a leader in delivering outstanding education and an exceptional student experience, with enhancement at its core.

The QER identified six commendations for ����ɫ��, which are:

• Student Partnership: The strong relationship between the University and students, with the views and feedback of students at the forefront of initiatives/projects to enhance the student experience.
• Welsh Language and Bilingualism: The extent to which the Welsh language and bilingualism are deeply embedded in the culture of the University, to the clear benefit of all staff and students in terms of learning opportunities and a sense of belonging.
• Student Support: The extensive and responsive support available both academically and pastorally, to help support students’ needs throughout their time at the University.
• Staff Development: The significant value placed on staff development and the extent to which this is fully embedded across the University, which is of considerable benefit to both staff and student learning.
• Assessment Equivalence Framework: The implementation of the Assessment Equivalence Framework to ensure fairness and consistency in assessment practices within and between disciplines.
• Data-Driven Enhancement: The systematic integration and use of data to inform quality assurance processes, facilitate tailored student support, and to underpin targeted enhancements.

It reaffirms that our teaching, student support and quality assurance processes meet both national and European standards, with our six commendations indicative of ����ɫ�� going beyond a provision that meets standards to one of excellence. We are proud to see our dedication to continuous improvement and the student experience recognised in such a significant way through this QER outcome.”

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education & Student Experience) Professor Nichola Callow added: “����ɫ�� is the first University in Wales to be assessed under the new QER methodology and we are thrilled that we have received a number of commendations in key areas, The outcome of this review reaffirms our academic quality, and it a testament to our staff for their outstanding efforts over the years in maintaining such high standards. I would like to thank staff for these efforts, and to all staff, the Students’ Union and students who were involved in our QER submission and the visit in December.”
